Biological and Chemical Investigation

The Biological and Chemical Investigation Department conducts examination of a wide spectrum of biological and chemical traces and material evidence as well as visualization of dactyloscopic traces and dactyloscopic identification.
 
The research methods and up-to-date equipment (Fourier transform infrared spectroscopes, x-ray fluorescence spectrometer, scanning electron microscope with energy dispersive analyzer, gas chromatographs, optical microscopes of various types, UV and visible light spectroscopes) allow analysis of micro and macro amounts of the matter, comparison of molecular composition of the organic matter, comparison of qualitative and quantitative elemental composition of different materials and examination of light bulbs as well.
 
In order to visualize dactyloscopic traces, in addition to a wide range of powder and chemical methods, the method of vacuum metal deposition is available as well.
