Representatives from the Baltic forensic science institutions – the Forensic Science Bureau of Latvia, Estonian Forensic Science Institute, Forensic Science Centre of Lithuania and Lithuanian Police Forensic Science Centre from 26 to 28 April 2017 gathered for a meeting in Riga, Latvia. The event was held within the framework of the project “Find a Forensic Expert” (JUST/2014/JACC/AG/E-JU/6963) co-funded by the European Union Justice Programme.

The meeting of the ENFSI Animal, Plant and Soil Traces (APST) expert working group and APST Steering Committee was held from 4 - 7 April 2017 in Budapest, Hungary. Training on mobile forensics in Riga

The SFSB IT forensic experts together with their colleagues from the Estonian and Lithuanian forensic science institutions participated in the training on examination of mobile devices by using special forensic equipment which was held in Riga from 27 to 31 March 2017 within the framework of the EU supported project “Training on examination of mobile devices by using special forensic equipment”. The project activities involve 4 training seminars in Riga and it is managed by the Forensic Science Centre of Lithuania, the SFSB is involved as a partner organization.

SFSB involved in the COST action

The Head of the SFSB Biological and Chemical Investigation Department M.Rēpele will represent the SFSB in the Steering Committee of the COST action “MULTI-modal Imaging of FOREnsic SciEnce Evidence - tools for Forensic Science”. The first Steering Committeee meeting will be held on 2 March 2017 in Brussels. The project will continue until October 2020. The main objective of this Action is to promote innovative, multi-informative, operationally deployable and commercially exploitable imaging solutions/technology to analyse forensic evidence.
