The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia has supported the project proposal "Support for Ukrainian Forensic Experts in documentation of the war crimes committed by the Russian Federation " (ForUkraine) submitted by the State Forensic Science Bureau within the framework of the 2023 development cooperation grant project call.
The project will provide practical support to forensic experts of the Kharkiv Forensic Science Institute in documentation of war crimes committed by the Russian Federation, including:
• necessary equipment and materials;
• experience exchange and competence building measures;
• assistance in the development and testing of new forensic methods.
Ukrainian law enforcement institutions do significant work in documenting and investigating war crimes committed by the Russian Federation. The contribution of forensic experts is very significant to this process.
