On October 23-24, 2024, the Director of the State Forensic Science Bureau (SFSB) M. Čentoricka and the Deputy Director R. Apinis participated in the final tests of the sensors developed in the project "Real-time on-site forensic trace qualification" (RISEN), which took place in Rome, Italy. The event was organized by the Forensic science laboratories of Carabinieri Force (RaCIS).

During the event, practical testing of contactless sensors took place at a simulated crime scene, the capabilities of the sensors to provide real-time data processing and sending to the 3D augmented reality crime scene investigation system were tested in practice to create an interactive 3D model of the scene with position and labelling of traces and relative results of the on-site analysis.

As a result of the project, a fully functional prototype of the sensor system has been developed.

The project is co-funded by the Horizon 2020 program of the European Union.

The coordinator of the project is the Italian state agency ENEA. The project consortium consists of 20 partner organizations from 12 European countries. The State Forensic Science Bureau is one of the partners of the project.
